Roz and I are friends for five years, though I've not heard her voice until yesterday, when she left a voice mail on my phone. She has a charming accent from down under, proper as expected. More importantly, her message... She's leading a charge of breast cancer awareness, that knows no gender. Male, Female equal. We all have the same tissues after all. I am grateful to Roz and YapStuff.org for what they do and I'm trying to be a part of their mission. Please check out http://www.yapstuff.org or on Youtube/yapstuff.
Thank you

Bottles for Boobs on Earth Day

In this economic environment, fundraising is a challenge - even for a great cause like like ending breast cancer. Our team, "Busking for Boobs" is always looking for new ways to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
On Earth Day (Apr 22), members of the team went to a local Safeway grocery store to redeem deposits on bottles and cans collected over the past few months. This is what we found.

Sad News
Earlier this week, we received incredibly sad news. Melanie Shouse, a devoted MoveOn Council leader in St. Louis and tireless health care advocate, passed away after a battle with breast cancer.
Melanie was a true fighter. While she was involved in many issues with MoveOn, she always said health care was her heart—and even after treatments began, she came to every single health care rally, speaking out about the injustices she was suffering under our broken health care system.
Melanie's story is a painful reminder of why we need to fight as hard as we can to get real health care reform passed, now.
Our friends at TrueMajority are gathering messages of condolence to deliver to Melanie's family this weekend. The email they sent is below. To add your message, just click this link.

Thanks for all that you do.

Komen Facebook Survey
Susan G. Komen for the cure and it's foundation is using social media to reach out and increase breast cancer awareness, unfortunately, they ignore an increasing breast cancer concern; men.
In a recent Facebook Survey, if the individual entered male, they were thanked for their time and no survey taken. When female is entered, a lengthy survey is displayed with Komen history and facts, questioning pink purchasing.
As I near my forth year as a male breast cancer survivor and a 3 year Top 100 Fundraiser for Oregon and Southwest Washington Susan G. Komen Affiliate, I think my impression of Komen in the community might be of value.
